-
There is enough food in the world to feed everyone
-
More than 800 million people know what it is
like to go to bed hungry; most of them are women and children
-
Almost 200 million children under the age of
five years of age are underweight due to a lack of food
-
Malnutrition in children causes mental retardation,
lack of immunity to disease, and physical stunting
-
One child dies every seven seconds from hunger
and related causes
-
Hunger is caused by poverty; natural calamities
such as floods, drought, hurricanes, fire, earthquakes; political
unrest; religious persecution; war; ignorance; crop failure
-
Poor nutrition is a major cause of hunger as
many countries only grow food lacking nutritional value due
to poor conservation and lack of knowledge and ability to do
anything to change the situation
-
HUNGER CAN BE ELIMINATED!
If America would dedicate the same dollar amount spent on dog
food, we could feed the hungry in the world. The question is,
DO WE REALLY CARE?
